ORIGINAL VINTAGE 16TH TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL POSTER, 17IN X 32.5IN (43cm x 83cm)

Inventory #: 26-826 - $500.00

Original vintage poster from the 16th Telluride Film Festival, held September 1–4, 1989, at the historic Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, Colorado. A striking piece of late-1980s American cinema and graphic-design history, featuring a bold abstract composition of geometric forms in vivid pink, blue, yellow, green and metallic-gold tones against a dramatic charcoal-black ground. Visually, the poster is pure late-1980s Postmodern graphic design. Oversized abstract letterforms and architectural shapes appear almost to explode from the central composition, while a brilliant yellow sun suggests the Colorado landscape beyond. The poster is mounted but not framed, creating an unusually slim vertical statement piece that can be incorporated into a gallery wall or displayed independently. The piece measures 1.5 inches x 17 inches x 32.5 inches, and it was acquired from a Metro Washington DC estate.
