Offered here is an exceptional, original 1998 poster from the 36th New York Film Festival, hand signed by legendary Academy Award winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese in a bold silver marker at lower left. Created for the prestigious New York Film Festival at the Lincoln Center, from September 25 to October 11, 1998, this striking poster incorporates Martin Scorsese's own storyboard imagery from his 1980 masterpiece Raging Bull. The inclusion of the Raging Bull storyboards provides an extraordinary visual connection to the director's creative process in creating one of the most celebrated films in American cinema. Film from the Lincoln Center during this festival officially identifies Scorsese as the artist associated with the NYFF36 (1998) poster and specifically records that his Raging Bull storyboards formed its imagery. Most importantly for collectors, the present example bears a large silver-marker hand signature of Martin Scorsese, dramatically positioned against the black lower margin.
